How does Cash on Delivery work

How to set up shipping paid on delivery or an order paid on delivery

Jumpseller lets you offer two payment arrangements for orders delivered to your customers. The difference is what the customer pays when the order arrives:

1. Shipping paid on delivery: The order is paid online; the customer pays only the shipping cost upon delivery.
2. Order paid on delivery: The customer pays for the products and shipping upon delivery.

You need to use Checkout V2 to use this feature.

Shipping paid on delivery

The order is paid online. When it arrives, the customer pays only the shipping cost.

• Step 1: In your Admin Panel, go to Checkout → Shipping Methods, select Add Method, and choose Pay on delivery.
• Step 2: Keep the default method name or choose one your customers will understand, such as Shipping paid on delivery.
• Step 3: Select the zones where you want to offer this method.
• Step 4: Choose whether it applies to all products or only products in selected categories.
• Step 5: If needed, enable estimated delivery dates and configure other availability options.

• Step 6: Save your changes and confirm that the method is active in the shipping methods list.

Order paid on delivery

The order is created without an online payment. When it arrives, the customer pays for the products and shipping. To offer this option, create a manual payment method and add the Pay on delivery shipping method.

• Step 1: In your Admin Panel, go to Checkout → Payments and add a manual payment method.

• Step 2: Give the manual payment method a name your customers will recognize, such as Cash on delivery.

• Step 3: Go to Checkout → Shipping Methods, add the Pay on delivery method, and open its settings.

• Step 4: Name the shipping method, enable the option to show it based on a manual payment method, and select the manual payment method you created. This lets customers place the order without paying online, so payment can be collected upon delivery.

This option lets you choose which payment methods can be used with this delivery method.
